The rubber tree industry is facing new challenges.
The strong economic growth of countries in the tropics is causing an inevitable rural exodus.
This phenomenon makes the labour force on plantations scarce and increases its cost considerably.
In this context, the Kanopee stimulation makes sense.
The principle of stimulation is based on the injection of ethylene gas through a plug connected to the bark of
the trunk.
The gas is stored in a very resistant and totally hermetic plastic bag.
This device allows not only to choose but also to modify
at any time the flow of gas injected.
It can be compared to a medical infusion because the injection is continuous and can be adjusted at any time.
The device is attached to the tree with a nylon cord around the trunk.
The gas bag is filled periodically with a pressurised bottle.
This stimulation process is applied to mature trees that are at least 8-9 years old,
in good health and with a normally developed canopy.
This stimulation can be used for both upward and downward tapping.
Kanopee stimulation can also be used in intensive tapping configurations to increase production.
We can ensure annual productions equivalent to the d4-d5 etephon standard with :
Kanopee stimulation technology validated for long-term use.
A CIRAD latex diagnostic expertise over six years of experimentation showed no side effects on the tree's physiology.
An average tapping frequency d7-d9 over 4 years with yields per hectare of +15-20% compared to a classic d4-d5 etephon.
This intensive use configuration should only be applied to trees at the end of their cycle.
We are working to ensure that our Kp-Gaz© product is part of
a long-term progress approach.
